I live downtown Chicago and we bike EVERYDAY. I hope the rain stops long enough to accumulate some miles.

Pulled my back this morning picking up poochie to put in her basket. Had to cut the ride short. No rain in Chi-town in the 9:00 AM time.

Where is George Christiansen? I am so used to seeing him at the top of page 1 with a sizeable mileage lead above everyone else. Are you still out there riding George?
I just read that we met the 10 million mile goal on August 10th. Yeah! We did it.
Just back from my first post-surgery ride. Don't make the mistake I made. Skin cancer is no fun. Wear sunblock.
Somthing is going wrong with my Forerunner 305. This is second time it stopped recording and I had to hit the start/stop button a cople of times to get it to wake up. I lost about 5 miles :-(

@Patricia, everyone's ride makes a difference including yours thanks for joining us. Have you looked into getting the phone app for endomondo? It's very easy to use.

I've completed the National Bike Challenge on Endomondo. What's next?
Looks like I am going to have to get on the trail Saturday about 5:30 am to beat the heat in the Chicago area again....Sunday looks better with only the mid 80's.
Take plenty of liquids with you if you ride today. If you can find a route or trail with lots of shade, please use it instead of the streets. Take your time getting to your destination.
Be very careful all. I wish everyone who is going out a safe ride. Do not over exert yourselves in this 100 degree weather.
Rough day tomorrow... 100 degree weather in Chicago. I'll be drinking water all day.
I don't bike to work, I don't bike to save the planet or to cut back on CO2 emissions, I do it because I love doing it and will not make my love and enjoyment of Cycling cheap by adding platitudes to it... I really don't give a rat's butt if nobody else liked to ride and it was just me, I am selfish I would just say sweet more room for me weeeeeeeeeee!!! Takes me normally 20 minutes to drive to work. Takes me 30-35 on my bike. Driving isn't worth it.

I love Endomondo and I love this National Bike Challenge... I hope to get Platinum by the end of it... I'm about half way there (725 points)... I started a blog (endomondoroad.blogspot.com) as a way to document my progress, experiences, etc. Feel free to follow it and provide your own journey experiences... :)
I agree! Next week is "bike to work week" in Chicago. I would like to see a push in the number of people on bicycles not only next week, but throughout the summer. Imagine the roads with less cars and less CO2 emissions.
We need to push more!! The National is almost at 3 million. If you divide that by 50 states you come up with 60k each. Illinois riders should be way above the average!!!!
My daughter and I rode the north roue of "Bike The Drive" in Chicago this morning. What a blast. Can't wait to ride it again next year.
Just did Bike the Drive. 30 miles on Lake Shore Drive on the most beautiful lakefront ever.

On Wednesday, 5-16-2012, I participated in the "Ride of Silence" to honor thus bicyclist that were killed or seriously injured by vehicles during the past year. The ride was organized by the Arlington Heights Bicycle Club of Arlington Heights, IL.
Team Dunlee is riding bikes to work instead of driving their cars. Team members average 30 miles round trip per day!
Fantastic ride this morning. Finally, the wind has died down at the lakefront and there is no rain.
Well .. the challenge is working ... instead of running an errand in our car, we 'ran' it on our bikes!
I only ride my bike to commute to work so I'm only getting about 27 miles a week so I won't be raising the mileage that much but I think using a bicycle as an alternative to a car is what the real spirit is. After all how does it save CO2 or money if you're just taking a ride for exercise? I'll admit though more people just need to ride period.

Road 20.2 miles & averaged 12.4 mph with 8 other members of the Arlington Heights Bicycle Club yesterday. 11.8 miles in the rain. It was GREAT fun. AHBC has weekly Tuesday night and Wednesday night rides at an intermediate pace (14 - 16 mph rolling speed). The rides leave from Recreation Park at 6:30 p.m. until sunset. All are welcome.
Away at training in DC all week - I miss my bike! (and my wife and kids)
I did a 20 miler yesterday on the Des Plaines river Trail through Wright Woods and Old School Forest Preserva as well!!!
